I don't freakin' care about stupid music blogger nerds calling Flying Lotus "California's answer to Aphex Twin." In my opinion, that's BS, plain and simple. I've heard the comparison dozens of times and it never fails to tick me off. Flying Lotus is his own artist with his own style, he's got a lot of influences but he doesn't owe his sound to anyone. Besides, the Aphex Twin comparison is way off the mark: the only similarity between the two is that they both signed to Warp. For God's sake, people, give it up: the Twin is hardcore techno and Lotus is outer-space hip-hop! OK, now I'm getting worked up, so I'm going to go rant somewhere else....
