We all love the music, but having the back story gives a unique insight that makes these songs so special. I listen to them differently with his approach to the story, and I must say I love them even more.
  • Will you people who gave this a bad review pay attention to what bret says?

Guys, this is called blues, ballads, and stories. Bret did not kill every rose. He played "every rose" in its original version! It was a song he wrote to relieve the pain of a love he lost, and really cherished. How do you think Bret's songs get started? Acoustically, that's how. And here is another one for you. Every Rose was originally a country song! It took him 2 YEARS to show it to the guys in Poison..It isn't supposed to be a rocking cd, It even tells you so in the title. Geez..... Great Record Bret, and keep em' comin!

ITS NICE TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS THINKING WHEN HE WRITES HIS MATERIAL,HOWEVER MUSICALLY AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD RATHER HIM JAM TO METAL TUNES.THIS ALBUM SOUNDS LIKE I PICKED IT UP AT A GAS STATION IN KENTUCKY.
  • Great to re-live these songs through Bret's words

Every artist who pours their heart and soul into their work should do something like this. It's like he's just having a conversation with you. It makes this download extremely up close and personal.

For all true fans of Bret's this is a must download. Filled with great songs and the stories behind them. It has a very intimate feel as if Bret is telling the stories directly to you. Reminds me of the MTV Storytellers days. I loved hearing Bret's sexy voice on the story tracks. I could listen to that voice all day!
  • Great compilation
