I still cry every time I hear this song, even though I've heard it dozens of times. No other song, save for perhaps "Lousiana 1927", captures the spirit of sadness and shame of what happened to New Orleans during Katrina. It crystallizes the horror wreaked upon an American city due to the neglect and abject incompetence of the governement in its failure to project Americans during a time of great distress, or to leave the citizens of a poor, mostly black city with not even a shred of dignity. The song's subtext leaves and indelible mark on the conscience, reminding us of how stunning it was to see an American city abandoned by its government due to the callousness and stupidity of an out-of-touch White House, and an inactive Congress.

I admire Harry for helping to heal New Orleans. He is not only a great songwriter/pianist/singer but also a role model for all of us.This song is not my favorite of his, but it definitely serves the purpose. We should all follow his lead by buying this song and/or donating to the cause.

This is an exquisite song acknowleging the 1st anniversary of Katrina.
It makes me cry every time I hear it. The New Orleans front line rhythm
underscores lyrics that rail against injustice and the loss of souls, while
it embraces the innate compassion there among folk who lost everything.
Thank God Jamie Cullum is not Harry!

I like Harry Connick, Jr. I also like his collaborations with powerful gospel artists. This one, however, didn't measure up to his collaboration, on his album "30", with Rev. James Moore (R.I.P.). I expected a little more from Kim. She by no means disappointed me but I wasn't overwhelmed, and I know Kim can overwhelm. The message in this song is powerful and you feel it from both artist. A recommended buy.

In response to a previous review. Do you know how long Harry Connick has been around? About triple the time that Jamie Cullum has been around....if anyone is copying - it would be Jamie copying Harry. Good song, not to mention the man that sings it is absolutely gorgeous!
