I’ve been waiting for this album for so long. It didn’t disappoint. Angelina did this for her grandma Meri, who is a renowned poet and who wrote the lyrics. It’s timeless jazz for the ages.

Angelina Jordan is only 19 years old, but this incredible collection of timeless sounding music makes one think she has been singing for 30 years. She is THE most amazing singer songwriter I've ever experienced - a voice of a generation, if not a lifetime. This album is a loving collaboration with her Grandma Mery, a brilliant poet and painter, and it feels like it could be a collection of classic jazzy hits from the 1930s 40s and 50s ... except they're all original compositions. Angelina's amazing (and non-pitch corrected) voice and musicality are stunning, and are such a welcome change from the manufactured sameness of most popular music these days. If you enjoy classy, beautifully emotive music that resonates with the best music of the past 100 years, you need to listen to, and will likely treasure, Secret of the Soul.
