Definitely a step in the right direction for Benny. It has none of the overwrought vocals or campy lyrics like in Beautiful Things. It manages to carry a fun dance-beat under it while maintaining a rock edge, and it doesn’t have that much of the “start soft, get loud” structure that every other Benson Boone song has. Its subject matter is very interesting and vague enough to be relatable, but it’s also very linear (what happened next, Benny?) Diary-entry-style songwriting like this is a pet peeve of mine, but its structure makes it passable. Not something I found immediately fun, but in the end, not bad at all. 7/10.

I’m prefacing this with - I LOVE Benson and the entire last album and have seen his amazing live show. Beautiful Things and Slow It Down we’re great single choices, but I do not feel that this new song is strong enough of a record to capitalize off of all of the Grammy hype and the following he’s gained in the past month. It’s a good album track, but just good. Not an exceptional standalone single. Hope the next single is a smash

It’s an OK song, but not feeling it. I really liked his album was hoping for more music videos from that. plenty of other songs off of it he could’ve released as a single don’t get why this one is out now.
