Rose became a staple in our house last year when we discovered Irish Eyes, which could very well have been written about our daughter, Luella. I couldn’t help but worry that Rose’s new release might stray too far into the type of polished pop that draws in so many newly successful artists. But I’m happy to report that the spirit of her art - musically, lyrically and thematically - all remained intact and actually benefit greatly from the sprawling production of There Is No Ship. I’ve already texted friends with links to several songs - a favorite being Save Me A Seat. Thank you for a wonderful collection of meaningful songs!
