As someone who’s stanned Loona since 2018, this is one of the best projects to come from the girls full stop. TTYL has a playful yet frantic energy that shows a more mature side of the girls while still keeping the fun and sassy vibe Loossemble has showcased in their past EPs. Cotton Candy and Confessions are a throwback to the My Melody/My Sunday school of B sides, allowing two separate sub units to tackle a similar song in their own way, showing off some talents they haven’t shown us yet (shout out to Hyunjin’s crazy vocals and rap break in Confessions!) Hocus Pocus is a 90s-flavored R&B throwback tune with undeniable energy- definitely feels like one of those songs that was fun in the recording booth. It’s definitely my favorite track off the EP. It’s so easy to end up looping this song, with the addictive vocals (including crazy ad libs) and danceable vibes. Secret Diary is the oddball on this EP in a good way- the violin synths, trap beat, and at times delicate vocals combine into a mysterious track that the girls haven’t really attempted yet. It’s definitely a song that doesn’t have a comparison in the wider Loona discography, and the experimental nature pays off here. All in all, it’s a deeply cohesive second comeback jam packed with unexpected surprises and standout tracks that make the girls shine.
