Well folks, I never thought I’d be pre-ordering an album in 2024, but here we are. After hearing Can You Die From a Broken Heart?, I just had to do it. I mean, Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne? What a duo! Who could’ve seen that coming? When that song dropped, it was like a sign from the country music gods. Nate’s soulful country twang and Avril’s unexpected (but surprisingly perfect) vocals had me hooked from the first chorus. After spinning that song on repeat for a good two hours, I found myself staring at the pre-order button like it was my last piece of cornbread at Thanksgiving dinner. How could I not? If this song’s any sign of what’s to come, the album is bound to be a masterpiece. Besides, when’s the last time a country album gave you the best of Tennessee and Canada? Exactly. I’m already clearin’ some space on my shelf for this one. If the rest of the album’s anything like this single, I’ll be playin’ it ‘til the cows come home.
