When We Were Kings

Since the last Stryper album. Michael is an incredible songwriter and his hair is always on point.

Stryper has done it again with another amazing album!!! Great job!!!

And they will follow. I just don’t get this odd new “Christianity “. Can you imagine Jesus hearing this? Jesus Liking this? Good Lord!

I always look forward to new material from Stryper, but, I’m going to be gracious because I know things have been a little stressful with medical issues within the band. While the album sounds good as always, there’s nothing here that really sets it apart from any of the other recent albums. To me, it comes across like an obligation album. The other thing that sticks out is the similarity of songs not only on the album but across the others. Chalk that up to Michael being THE songwriter and producer. Logistics play a part as Michael has said, but with technology there’s no reason why the rest of the band can’t have some input. But if they did, then the royalties would be split. Perhaps it’s time to open up a little and allow some outside influence steer the next project toward a slightly different sound and musical direction. The lyrics are hard to discern with reading along, and the guitar tone is going through a processor before the amp making it mid-rangie and not enough classic grind. The limitations of self-production and exclusive songwriting has caught up with Michael in my opinion. I doubt I’ll listen to this one all the way through. Let Brendan O’Brian do the next album, or at least a couple of songs.

This is amazing. The vocal harmonies, melodic dual leads and perfect rhythm section. This is the best written and best played and produced Stryper album. I love all of the albums, but this one is really the best by a long shot. I’m impressed!

Loved them in the 80s/ Early 90s and even more now! Possibly my favorite of all their records.

Another great album by Stryper I have heard it all and it’s very good, Stryper never disappoints a must listen for fans and new fans. 👍👍👍👍👍
