This is one of Sturgill’s best albums no skips. There are so many influences on this album I hear; Allman brothers,Ronnie Milsap,Marvin Gaye,Steely Dan,Willie Nelson and so many others. If the sun never rises again gives me BIG Marvin Gaye vibes and I’m here for it. Some of Sturgill’s best work right here.

I love everything he's done so it's no surprise I love this as well. Reminds me a lot of Sailor's Guide with the string instruments especially Jupiter's Faeries. Scooter Blues is a little Prine and a little Buffett thrown in a blender.

OMG. Indeed. What an amazing song. The last four minutes very reminiscent of 1970's Pink Floyd, a strange combination, but it totally works for me. Favorite song of the year so far.

This is such a different version of Sturgill. His voice is so smooth and you can really feel the Paris connection as well as the time he spent in the islands in Scooter Blues. I definitely recommend that you make this purchase.

Sturgill is a force of nature, and this album is asbolutely worth the wait. It's typical Sturgill, in that it defies genre; it's not country, blues, rock-a-billy or anything else - it's just Sturgill, and it's fantastic. From the deeply personal Jupiter's Faerie to the fun and chill Scooter Blues, he has once again knocked it out of the park. Spoiler alert - there's a hidden track that has some guest artists!
