We’re all familiar with these hits so I’ll make some comments on Friendly Fire instead.
Really love the song, and honestly the more I listen to it the more it’s truly becoming one of my favorite Linkin Park songs. Its super catchy and I just love the melody to it. Chester’s chorus really shines through on this one too; very powerful. It’s also nice to see more prominent guitar work on this song considering a lot of that was either toned down and/or lost in the mix on One More Light as a whole. I think that was probably a product of Mike and Brad reworking the song in December 2023 and them feeling the song needed some more guitars. Rob also does a good job on the drums too. Both he and Brad cut through the mix on this and I like it a lot. Honestly Friendly Fire is a great example of what One More Light would have sounded like if it was more rock-oriented, and I think a lot of fans would have gravitated to it more if that was the case. Friendly Fire is a great song and I’m glad the band released it!
Also nice to finally have an official release of QWERTY!
