I’m convinced Mr. Ed Roland has an endless supply of catchy soft-rock hits and beautiful ballads. Most songwriters' creativity would have dried up long ago, but after more than 30 years and 12 albums later there’s no end in sight. And this one is a double album to boot!
My favorites are….. 3. Let it Flow, 6. Hey Man, 7. Kick it, 8. Matter of Fact, 10. Be the One, & 15. Words Away, but I pulled out 11 tracks that I really like. Thank you Collective Soul, & keep ‘em Roland!
The guys showed up!

I’m impressed with this entire album. Very cool and consistent vibe. Making it a double album made it all the better. This band has matured nicely and they’ve proved themselves yet again with this solid release! I love it CS. GREAT JOB!!!
I love that Collective Soul continues to make great music

This is classic Collective Soul. Several reviewers say they have changed. Other than evolving to a slightly more modern sound, their best tunes have that immediately recognizable CS sound. Ed’s voice is so strong, yet unique.
I think, if anything, they overdid themselves on this LP. That may be the reason reviewers think they’ve lost some of their sound because they just went overboard with too many tunes. It’s almost like they didn’t want to put any into the vault and just put them all on this album. I would’ve given them 5 stars, but it is just too long of an album with a handful of songs that could’ve been discarded. Regardless, the top 10 to 12 songs on this are amazing and CS has not lost the beat! I suggest purchasing the whole thing for the price and just deleting the four or five songs that you don’t like.
Excellent

I always look forward to a new Collective Soul album. There will always be 2-3 songs I play on repeat. This one is no exception. Its like a love letter to the artists that have inspired their sound. The prior three albums seemed fast and tight, while Eternity has a more mellow and laid back sound.
Recorded in Elvis’ palm springs mansion, the old style rock inspiration of the Elvis, The Beatles and Tom Petty can be heard all throughout. Three songs stand out for the classic Collective Soul guitar rock-Mother’s Love, Keep It on Track and Therapy. After 30 years of making music, Ed Roland is still at top of his game writing and the band is still standing tall behind him. They genuinely like each other and it continues to show.
Collective Soul has literally been one of the most consistent bands over the last three decades despite some ups and downs in the early 2000s. They now have a rhythm that allows them to have fun.
Excellent!!!

This is an amazing album. One of their best. So much soul in the lyrics. “Over and Out” had me in tears because it was released on the same day as my daughter’s last day of high school.
They are the definition of Soul

They never disappoint, fantastic from beginning to end. I hope this isn’t the swan song but it is, they left with a wonderful ending.

Not bad after my initial listen, but definitely missing that classic Collective Soul sound. If I’m able to edit this later I will give my final review after more times through the album. There is a new sound, with a handful of the new songs, that just doesn’t sound great. Very few songs capture the classic Collective Soul sound. I understand bands have to change, but it’s not always for the better. There seems to be a period when Collective Soul changed after the 2009 LP (arguably their best). They have not been able to recapture their sound/energy since the formation of their latest lineup that was formed for the 2015 album. Am I glad this album exists, YES. I just long for the days of the 1990’s and the early 2000’s Collective Soul. Final Review: (Changed from 3 to 4 stars) Well having gone through the new album about 4 times I will say it has grown on me. Their are definitely a few more songs that have stood out since the initial listen. Tracks 5, 9, 13 and 17 are all pretty skippable with tracks 1,2,3,6,7,11 & 18 being the standouts. The remaining tracks (4,8,10,12,13,14,15,16,19 & 20) are what I like to call modern Collective Soul. Those final track groupings are the types that have found their way into every LP since the 2015 album. Those types are what I guess we can come to expect for the remainder of CS’s career. Thankfully there are still dashes of classic CS mixed in with every new album. I feel there is at least one if not two future albums on the horizon for us longtime fans. In the meantime check out the Living Room LP that Ed put out during COVID back in 2020. It’s essentially a more traditional sounding Collective Soul full album. If you’ve never heard it , it will satisfy you more than you’d expect. In short it’s great!
Awesome!!
