How could you do a 70's country collection and not include at least one of the million selling singles by Donna Fargo? The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA or Funny Face. Both were massive hits!!

Without a doubt, this compilation is full of country songs that were hits on the radio and tended to cross over to pop stations in the 70s. For that reason, they tend to be the almost-novelty, upbeat-bordering-on-silly kind of 70s country pop that pleased a LOT of radio listeners. But these are ALSO the kind of country song that made "serious" country fans roll their eyes. Think of 80s rap hits like "Baby Got Back" or 90s "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" and how they were hits, but they didn't necessarily represent what huge hip-hop/rap fans were listening to. These country-pop songs have a place in the pantheon of country hits. But maybe google "outlaw country," too.

This is a very nice collection from a decade when country was still county, Lots of great selections on this, but a larger collection is needed, but you can't fit all the GREAT country music that came out in this decade on one collection, more collections are needed, there must be a demand this collection landed at the top of the Itunes charts!!!!
