This album is finally on iTunes again! This album was originally released on iTunes back in 2006, however it was taken down in 2010. This live album is a classic and I’m glad that it’s on iTunes again!
Great!!

This is an awesome album! Pink Floyd was an awesome band and this album re-demonstrates it! Listeners don't get the recorded album! This sounds 100x Better! This is worth $17.
A definitive performance of The Wall

I downloaded this after seeing Roger Waters perform the Wall live on his current tour (if you have the chance, go see it - on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 25!). This album is nearly the same as the current show with the omission of the Master of Ceremonies who is interrupted by "In the Flesh". Two songs were added from the studio album - "What Shall We Do Now" which is basically part 2 of "Empty Spaces", and "The Last Few Bricks" which was added to the live show to allow the stage hands time to finish building the wall. The lyrics for "Empty Spaces" are different from the studio version. "The Show Must Go On" also has some extra lyrics that were cut from the original due to space constraints.
One of the defining sounds of Pink Floyd in my opinion is the maniacal voice of Roger Waters, and in this performance his voice is at it's most maniacal, which suits the story of "Pink's" descent into insanity, peaking with "Run Like Hell" during the introduction of which he taunts the crowd with "Are there any paranoids out there? .... this is for all the weak people out there... are there any weak people here?"... he then proceeds to tell the crowd to clap along and - screaming like the crazed lunatic that Pink has become by this time in the show - "Enjoy yourself" followed by maniacal laughter. This live performance is every bit as good as the studio version, if not better in some ways, given Pink's interaction with the crowd and the haunting Master of Ceremonies prior to "In the Flesh" that is played at a slow speed, supposedly to illustrate the warped point of view that Pink has behind his wall. (Waters does similar intro's on the current tour).
It is also unique in that during the 1980-81 Wall Tour (only 30 shows in total) that such songs as Hey You, Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell were performed live with Waters and Gilmour sharing the vocals as this was the last tour with the original lineup (Perhaps Gilmour will sing along on these numbers in his few appearances on the current tour).
One of the highlights on this album for me was 'Nobody Home', during which Richard Wright practically steals the night with his booming playing on the grand piano.
This album is actually a composite of at least 8 of the 30 Wall shows performed in 1980 and 81 at various locations, although Earls Court is the only venue referenced on the album (during the Master of Ceremonies tracks).
The musicianship and harmonies on this recording are impeccable.
Supposedly Waters is in the process of editing some footage from this tour that he recently found - hopefully it will be made available some day - this is definitely Pink Floyd at their peak.
This album is awesome

A brilliant live album from a brilliant band. it brings me back to 1981 - Nassau Coliseum. It's arguably better than the studio album with a few surprises; still flawless from beginning to end. A also agree with Robster - if you're not a Floyd fan, at least check out Comfortably Numb. Incredible.
Ahhhh.. yes... :)

How many different version of this album do we need? It is only passable in it's original and on my list of overrated rock albums. Now Roger Waters is dragging this dinosaur out of the tarpit again. Why? It is a depressing and unpleasent album with a few good songs. I guess we can be lucky thst his idea of brining The Wall to Broadway never saw the light of day. Who wants to pay over a hundred dollars to watch a self absorded, depressed rock musician? I grew up with this album back in the eighties and could identify with the alienated character and that bs angst. It was different then but today it is just self indulgent self pity. How boring.
Worst album ever.
