This where Gilberto's musical director, Tommy Villariny, began his career. The albums were recorded and released by COMBO RECORDS when TOMMY VILLARINY (Gilberto Santa Rosa) & EDGARD NEVAREZ (Rafy Leavitt- Tommy Olivencia) graduated from The Berkeley School of Music in Boston. Since then they were dubbed the "BERKELEY BOYS". You can here the swinging sounds of Gilberto Santa Rosa & a bit of El Gran Combo here. Tommy went on to direct and arrange Gilberto's first four solo recordings for COMBO RECORDS. Songs like "Cantante De Cartel", "Tu", "Sin Un Amor", "Tengo Una Muneca". Check those out too!!! En mi opinion, este fue el CD con el que Gilberto se consagro como el astro de nuestra musica popular. Que clase de ser humano. Tuve el privilegio de conocerlo en el 98 en un baile en El Paso, TX. Este hombre no es feca, el es de a verdad. Gracias por representarnos con clase y honradamente.
