Growing up in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, I listened to all genres, but really only picked up on Motown, r&b and funk in the early ‘80’s. I totally loved Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone, Al Green, EWF, and on. Saw Devon live (opening I believe for Grace Potter in Chicago) and flood of memories to great sounds from that generation hit me. If you are like me and love that music, check out this album - it is all original - it is all new - it is all Devon. But man does it bring back great music we need at a time like this! Thanks Devon - love this album! My Spring 2023 jams! 👏🏻👏🏻

I opened this album because it just looked interesting. Then came the voice and the bit of soulful funk. Devon must have grown up in a house filled with Smokey Robinson and - especially - Curtis Mayfield. Curtis, both with snd without the Impressions, could have made this. Give it s listen. It'll renew your failth in good, honest, REAL soul music...with no gimmicks
