First album I have bought of these guys, and that might be a bad thing. For an album that reminds me of The Fragile, Aenima or Pure, it’s going to be hard to go back on their past albums and hopefully I can enjoy as much as this one. This album is an album of the year. If a fan of Alcest, Isis, Junius, or Long Distance Calling you will dig this album.

Been a fan of the band for years, but this new album feels like a new high-water mark of creativity for the guys. Incredible perofrmances all around, the layering and textures of the production is incredible. The mix is just 'better' than what's been done in the past. If you're a fan of heavy music, dive in. It's great.

For a few months several tracks were progressively released and I must admit I was not impressed. Hearing from the band that this was going to be a bit different I was cautious that I was not going to get Phanerozoic 1 or Pelagic again. To make a long review short, this is one of those albums that you must listen to as one piece of music and that you must listen to about 4 times at least. It is brilliant. The best song is definitely Suboreal, for me, but the first two tracks have moments you are anxious for as well. This band does not just “put out music.” They have a very specific vision and artistic approach. While I do not agree with their overall idea on Sea of Reeds I do agree with their assessment of the world today and how we have just come to accept that everything is a moment away from utter chaos and destruction- much of it due to our own selfishness and blindness. While this album is said to conclude a series of albums I hope it’s not the end for the band they have a lot of art left to give.
