Don’t care where your from, when your from, what you are or aren’t. This album, listened to in a cozy, relaxed state, enhance or not, will alter the way you perceive everyday things, for the better, in my opinion. It’s not repetitive yet just as memorable. Roger Waters relationship with Sid Barret was close. As musicians they grew together, musically. Their willingness to experiment with various instruments (electric and electronic) utilizing the latest in tech and interweaving it with traditional instruments, gave Pink Floyd a unique edge in the music industry. When Sid’s mind went , Roger struggled to make sense of it all and carries deep pain for his friend. Dark Side chronicles Sid’s tragic decline into madness. If your human, you will feel the roller coaster of emotions contained in this album. Arguably ,their best album. Try listening with quality over the ear headphones. You won’t be disappointed.

This remastering is magnificent! The clarity of sound is like nothing ever before.

You know that thing that says popularity and rates the song on iTunes? I’m assuming the rating is out of 10 or 11 bars but, uhhhh I think every song on Dark Side Of The Moon should be rated 11/11 because everybody knows that the entire Album is one song and will still always be the greatest album of all time Nothing beats the Dark Side Of The Moon. You can have your own opinion and say there is someone else better than Floyd like the Beatles or Zeppelin but from ME, NO ALBUM FROM ANYONE IS BETTER THAN THE DARK SIDE AND THERE IS NO ONE BETTER THAN PINK FLOYD! Sorry Beatles!

I listened to Pink Floyd for over 40 years. I’ve been to their concerts, their music is timeless. They were groundbreaking in the past and still the music I turn to when relaxing at home.

Writing this solely as a review of the Dolby Atmos remastering as a counter to all the 1 star reviews ignorantly claiming to be doing the same. This is a historically significant remastering and has been 50 years in the making, not just from an age perspective, but because of how they had intended for it to be listened to 50 years ago. But first, I'll start by pointing out that its actually *not* the precise same recording and album as the 1 star reviewers claim. This one is actually 30 seconds longer and most of the tracks are either significantly longer or shorter than the length of the 2011 remastering. I obviously can't point out all the differences here, but given than I've listened to the 2011 remastering easily a few hundred times just in the last 4 years, I'm of the opinion that its worth taking the time to figure them out on your own anyway. I could listen to this album in any form on repeat for the rest of my life and never tire of it. I always seem to notice or grasp something new on every listen. Now, for why this particular remaster is historically significant for Pink Floyd as well as the recording and remastering of music for sound systems in the modern era.. Pink Floyd (with the help of Alan Parsons as engineer) originally multi-tracked this album to be released for Quadrophonic sound systems. These were massively expensive powerful surround/3D sound systems that existed in the 70s, but were exceptionally rare. They seemd to have hoped that this would help popularize them or at the very least that it could be played in venues over said systems. Unfortunately they were cost prohibitive for most and while they did cut a select few quadrophonic copies of it if I'm not mistaken, they didn't sell. Part of the problem was the electircal power resources required to power the systems in the first place. Even some venues had trouble installing these due to the power demands at the time. So, the master tracks in unheard surround sound sat for decades. The 2003 and 2011 remasterings brought the first real surround sound release to the masses, but it still wasn't enough to capture everything they had hoped to release in 1973. Then came Dolby Atmos, 3D surround sound capabable of projecting sound seemingly from all around you and without all the equipment hassle of inferior multi-channel surround sound systems. The sound truly is immersive if you're listening to it in Dolby Atmos. If you're not, well I can understand where you might be a little miffed it sounds similar, but I can tell you it still sounds dramatically different in my car over the stock speakers. And again, die hard fans like myself will enjoy taking the time to pick out what all has changed that resulted in the significantly altered track lengths, and 30 seconds on the album as a whole. For the record, I have an Apple Music family plan where I can download and play it anytime, yet I still bought this version on iTunes.

This LP has been one of my favorites since 10th grade. It wasn't 10 years old then! Anyway, if I remastered this LP, I would take out the chime bells. Everytime I fall asleep to this, they wake me up and I'm then up all night. (Jeff in ny)

This sounds just like the other album, if you already have it, don't waste your money on this

Anyone who didn’t notice the previous version of DSotM on iTunes had “On the Run” from the Pulse live album substituted, whether intentional or not, this has been quietly corrected now. The (newly) remastered version is much cleaner but some of the improvements are probably only detectable if you’ve been listening to the album like a billion times over the last 50 years.

The previews sound exactly like my CD from 1992. Why buy the same product again? I'm giving it 5 stars though, because it's a masterpiece, and people who haven't listened to it before might feel compelled to buy it.
