ok.. never is a cover good. but this cover is just as good as the original

I love Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd and usually don't like when another group does a song that a group has made,but Shinedown has done an excellent job at this one. I don't think anyone else could do this song like they did. The cd it's self is really good.

This song is horrible compared to the Lynyrd Skynyrd version, So if you think this song is good (which its not) then you might want to listen to the original.

I am completly rocked to my soul with this version of an already great song...I saw Skynyrd (with Ronny) three times in the 70's and hold them at the top of the rock pile...this cover is nothing less than a tribute as far as I am concerned...Ronny would be proud... I just purchased Shinedown's album and I'm sure I will like it... I promise you this, I WILL go see Shinedown when they come around! Peace...

1st time i heard it I was obsessed ...had to find out who touched my heart and put a big "Ol" lump in my throat...WOW>>>and found the other version as well...Let's just say the writer of the song- the voice behind it- combined w/ the melody as I may call it.YES SIMPLE but a grand taste.. . think of my brother,,,, accept every single word in "Simple Man"--b4 he left our living world he fulflled, "Ol Girl", (mom for short) every wish strangly sung ...It brings a great comfort knowing we have such talented people all over..THANK YOU....

This is probably the best song ever!!! It has great meaning, and Shinedown sings it perfectly!

This song is beautiful. I have a son, and when I first heard this, I was amazed by the lyrics and how much it remind me of my son. A must buy for everyone!

that song is amazing...it's the one song my dad related to and when he died it's the only song I can listen to and feel close to him. skynard did a good job but the acoustic is beautiful! love the song!!
