They’ve come a long way from the Linkin Park-esque “My Revolution,” charting an increasingly-unique modern melodic metal road. Intense pop hooks and hip hop rhythms punctuate an otherwise solid metal framework, making it more uptempo than brutal. However, the grind and synth base depth are there, making it worthwhile Metal.
“Violent Pop” was a defining record for them, laden with infectious tracks. The early evidence on this album is that it’s another step forward. Balboa (salute to Rocky, or at least his heart) and Dark Side are worth repeated listening. Overall, one of the better and more unique modern metal bands today. Eagerly awaiting the full album. 🤟
