Young Bob

Bob Dylan is only 20 years old and this was his first official album. It is pretty good, bluesy and Bob sings better on this album than so many others. Most of the songs are covers of old blues tunes but there are two good originals Talkin' New York and Song To Woody. His next album was Freewheelin' and it was a breakthrough album. This one gets overlooked often but is definitely worth a listen on spotify, buy the download, or get the CD! I play if often.

I have dozens of Dylan albums and so I thought I knew where all his songs came from. But this 1962 Classic has several songs you find on every Dylan's greatest hits album that I was unaware of their origin. And his most recent, Dusquene Whistle or whatever, is as fresh as these. 50 years. 50 freaki'n YEARS!!
All hail one of the great American Classics musician/composer/poets of all time.

Bob Dylan's covers on this album are blissteringly energetic, youthful and powerful. The two originals are incredible, and of extraordinary promise. The album is very funny at times too.
A great debut by a great musician

One of the weirdest combinations of beautiful acoustic folk and hardcore (dare I say, angry?) blues. I've been a Dylan fan for abour ten years and I don't know why I'm just buying this album now, but I daresay it was a pleasant surprise. I expected this to be nothing but straight up folk or Guthrie-esque folk talkin' blues, but some of this is hardcore blues out of the Delta itself. Mightily impressed with the number of risks Dylan took on this album, being his debut. Probably some of the fiercest singing and harmonica playing he's exhibited (as far as I know.) A fantastic album, even 50 years later!
