for the rambling moments on this album. And I've listened to it repeatedly. I can't stop listening to this album. First, it's surprisingly crisp. Sometimes with these off-label recordings, the sound can resemble a beginning oboe player. This album gets launched with "Tenor Madness" and it sets the tone for the rest of this album. I totally disagree that it rambles. It seems to always be in motion. This date seems to have been the best of the other two (Vol. 2 and 3, which are also sold on iTunes) "Wave" is beautiful, with a superb Dex solo. "Days of Wine and Roses" is another great track. This is now my favorite Dex album. Live is always the best way to listen to jazz. Support your local jazz artists today!!
