Just a terrific new collection from these studs. And to the below reviewer who thinks their previous outings were "duds" you must be living in a cave. Search Wikipedia and look at the worldwide awards and sales records for their last 2x albums. Volbeat is a international monster only now breaking through here in the States. Europe crowned these guys kings years ago and we are just catching up. But Volbeat has followed the tried and true money making formula used by a legendary hard rock band of the '70's: tour relentlessly, keep putting out records, give the fans what they want and forget radio (even today's siriusxfm who rarely play Volbeat). That band? Ever heard of Led Zep? Rock on Volbeat.

There is literally nothing original about this new album. Or the last. Or the one before it. Love them but every album is the same template. Listen and just change the words it’s the same.
  • Might be their best album yet!

I am an OG metal head and I say “Say No More” and “Lasse’s Birgitta” are instant classics. I love the trippy “Step into Light” and rockabilly “Domino”. Best metal album in a long time!

I've been a huge Volbeat fan for years and this is by far one of the best albums they've put out. Definitely heavier than the last few and it has a solid "Metallica" sound (and also a cover).
  • I was worried

Not gonna lie, I’ve been underwhelmed by the last couple of albums. Then I heard “Temple of Ekur,” and I was blown away by the heavy, Metallica inspired crunch. However, when song 2, “Wait a Minute My Girl” started, I got worried again! When the horn kicked in, my heart sank even further. The chorus was catchy, but I hated the pop sound, and more importantly, the horns. Then something magical happened…….”The Sacred Stones” started. Once again, I was back to being blown away by the chugging, heavy rhythm riffs, and some catchy, melodic leads. Songs like “Shotgun Blues,” “Say No More,” “Becoming,” “The Passenger,” and “Mind Lock” are all excellent songs that take us back to the heavier days. Overall, this album is a good mix of their career. It’s diverse enough to please everyone in some way. There are a few duds on the album like “Domino,” which I hated, and “Return to None” which is heavy, but it doesn’t really go anywhere, which is frustrating since it had some great riffs. However, that is more a matter of subjective, personal taste. “Dagon For” sounds like it was manufactured strictly for radio, but I really enjoyed the melodic leads. Either way, I’m glad to have them back making some (mostly) heavy, yet catchy music again.
