Joshua Bell is at the top of game here. I would love to hear what he could do with Brian Crain's "Spring Symphonies".
Amazing!!!!

After seeing the Movie and listening to the Violin tell of it's passionate life's story, I felt had to have this album.
This Instrument is so powerful, bringing it's history to life again for me. Just listening and enjoying the compositions, full of rhythmic emotional explanation.
If you loved the music from the movie The Red Violin, bottom line is you'll love this album.

I agree with the first review: this soundtrack does pierce your soul. This soundtrack truly blew my mind when I listened to it. The only reason the movie was so touching was the music within it and the story behind it all. I honestly can't say enough about how moving this music is. The piece on this album that really brought tears to my eyes was 'The Red Violin', how ironic that the piece that is most moving for me is basically the title song. My other favorite on here is 'The Gypsies/Journey Across Europe'. I found that part of the movie to be interesting as well, because of all the hands such a remarkable instrument had passed through, before it found Kaspar at the orphanage. It's also very ironic: Kaspar works so hard on his solo for this audition; he spends so many weeks working with it until he literally knows it backwards and forwards, and when he's finally about to demonstrate all the hard work he's done, his heart stops beating and his body slumps to the floor. Pure irony. I also loved the sequence with Pope and how he comes across his inspirations for concerts and solos he plays. This is truly an amazing movie and I guarantee, this music will truly reach your soul. I would highly recommend buying this.

sooo.... this piece is absolutely breathtaking.....it's full of beautiful harmonies and yet, it's so full if sorrow. Our highschool marching band is playing this song for one of our movements, we even have a singer, and a violinist. i'm really excited to hear the full production of it on the field., i have to say it's a very, very sad peace, and we all have the passion in performing it.

When I watched The Red Violin, I was moved to tears not because of the movie (which was very touching) but because of the music. This soundtrack embodies passion, melancholy, and all feeling via a violin. I highly recommend this soundtrack.
