Styx continue to amaze me with their talent for staying in the limelight with new material but staying true to the sound of past works

Somehow I am ways late finding out about them, but I always find them exactly when I need to.
  • This is just awful & weird.

After iconic Grand Illusion & Pieces of Eight offerings, this new album belongs in same discussion with Cornerstone, Paradise & Kilroy as a Styx must-have collection. (I'm) amazed after all these years Shaw & company produce yet another great album! Bravo!

I own every Styx album. I grew up with them as one of my favorite bands. Losing Dennis DeYoung was horrible for the band. The last two albums have been OK. I don’t have anything against Gowan. He is a fine musician and can pull off the classics. It’s the new stuff that doesn’t grab me. It’s just OK. There are many songs that I hear a distinct Queen influence. That’s not the Styx I want to hear. I wish they could put aside their differences and make one more classic Styx album.
  • Inspired new music by a classic band.

Crash Of The Crown draws sonically from Styx’s legacy and propel the band forward failthfully representing their current lineup and sound. The songs are very strong and the production is top notch. This album rewards repeat listeners with a feast of hooks, strong melodies, great guitar work and some excellent prog-rock moments.
  • Best Styx Album since The Grand Illusion.

Great songs, great arrangements. Amazing production value coupled with Todd Sucherman’s incomparable drumming. Just buy it, get in your 1978 Chevy truck, and crank it up.
