I will happily make an exception for Wendy. I was really skeptical and almost cringing at the prospect of Wendy releasing an all ballad Mini Album. It’s chancy, and hard to pull off unless you are a really gifted singer. However, I think Wendy more than delivered here. It’s adult. It is a promise for more to come. The majority of her songs used simple arrangements as a background to really showcase her voice. I feel it’s A Declaration of Independence from K-pop girl group member to an artist making her debut into promising and long career. I really wish all the best for Wendy and look forward to great things.
