  • Bryan Ferry at the RAH 2020.

It’s Bryan Ferry at the Royal Albert Hall just before COVID brought this great tour to a halt. I caught the tour in 2019 in Austin, Texas at the Moody and it was a spectacular show. Great to have this live souvenir of the tour. Ferry and Band are in great form, and all the profits go to band and crew members who had to abort the tour. This is a winer on every level.

This is another wonderful album from Bryan Ferry. It is great to have live versions of a collection of classic Roxy Music songs, as well as some lesser known songs from Ferry’s solo career. Fans of Ferry’s solo career will enjoy the live versions of “You Can Dance,” “Limbo,” “Your Painted Smile,” and “Casanova.” The band’s performance was outstanding, but there will be comments on the change in Ferry’s voice as he has aged. I thought his clarity, diction and articulation were as strong as always. His voice has mellowed over time; it’s not as forceful as it used to be, but it is soothing and very appropriate for the songs in his later work.

Yeah his voice has been better but the band is strong on a fine collection of classic tunes. It’s at a the Royal Albert so he puts on a great show and I believe the proceeds go to help his band during these COVID times. No brainer.
