Perfect example of the emotional response that jazz can emote out of any whimsical melody. Beautiful rendition that maximizes the personal and historical appeal of the Charlie Brown Sunday Specials.
  • Ultra-cool rendition of Charlie Brown songs.

This is one of my Wynton Marsalis favorites! His rendition of the songs from the Peanuts Gang is SUPERB! I like the sax on "Why, Charlie Brown?". "Peppermint Patty" is beautiful! So are "Little Red-Haired Girl", "Linus & Lucy (Radio Edit)", "Buggy Ride", "Snoopy & Woodstock"...I can't name it all! The entire album is awesome!
  • Meant to give it 4 starts.. sorry!

I love Charlie Brown. And I love the radio edit of Linus and Lucy. Right now I am watching Charlie Brown on ABC Family. LOVE IT!
  • By far the best Charlie Brown cover album

I have never been a huge fan of Wynton's jazz playing but I have to say he really comes through on this one. These guys play the crap out of these classic Guaraldi tracks with the soul & enthusiasm they deserve. All other efforts fall way short. Except, of course, Guaraldi's own recordings of his work. The recording quality is clean and transparent, really letting the playing shine through. A great buy if you are interested in hearing some fantastic treatments of these classics, in the way they should be played.

This is an AMAZING piece of music. With all the solo's and so much work that has gone into what Wynton and Ellis have done. They truly have made Charlie Brown a jazz combo now.
