A high-quality, very unique album. The nine songs in it correspond to nine classic literary works. With his very penetrating voice, Ayanga perfectly interprets the literary themes selected in the album. Listening to each song, you can strongly feel the protagonist's inner activities and the atmosphere of the story. Amazing album of fusion of music and literary works. Bravo, loved every single song in this album.

Ayanga has become the rising star in Chinese pop music and the most well-known talent in the world of Musical in China. On musical stage, Ayanga is a singing-acting-dancing triple threat! He’s also an all around singer who excels in pop, rock, R&B, bel canto, and of course, the folk music of his homeland Inner Mongolia. As a devoted fan and a die-hard musical lover, I am so glad that this album is finally released worldwide. “The Art” was first out on 7/23/2020 in China and already sold over 400,000 copies online. It ranked top 10 best selling albums in China in 2020. The main concept of this album is a salute to a collection of the timeless classic literature that inspires him in a “musical style”. Except the title song “Immortal: The Art”, which serves as a table of contents for this album, all the other 9 songs are linked to 9 classic novels. Yes Ayanga co-produced this album and composed 8 out of 10 songs for this album. And 2 of them (“Namida” and “The Metamorphosis”) he also wrote lyrics. Since Ayanga always identifies himself as a Musical actor, he carved the songs from the perspectives of the protagonists of the selected literature. For “Love Island”, he was Edmond Dantes. Helpless and hopeless, he could only see the “darkness as his light” from his jail cell. The theatrical and dramatic music style makes “Love Island” the perfect “I Want” song for Edmond Dantes if there’s a musical play for “The Count of Monte Cristo”. “The Alchemist” is based on the cute novel with uplifting spirits. And the protagonist’s spiritual journey to pursue his dream is a reflection of Ayanga’s real life story. Here Ayanga adopts the Disney-ish brightness with the help of 100 fans’ background harmony to elaborate that “when you really want something the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”. “The Metamorphosis” shows Ayanga’s full range as a musical actor. This is the most difficult song I ever heard in Chinese pop music. It’s a perfect acting-singing combination and Ayanga just gave it all to this performance emotionally and technically without holding back. Besides those three, I also love the romantic duet of “Wasted My Time With You” (inspired by the novel “Love in the Time of Chorela”) and the subtle and heartbreaking waltz of “A Grand Disillusionment” (about the novel “The Great Gatsby). “Let It Go” is considered the origin of this album: in fall of 2019, Ayanga took the role of Antonio in “The Merchant of Venice” , an international collaboration with Royal Shakespeare Company. While he prepared for the role he got this idea of making an album based on his interpretation of the classics. Ayanga rocked this song with his raspy and sultry voice to let Antonio get out of the closet and declare his desire and frustration... Ayanga’s tenor sound is unique and instantly recognizable both here, and on the many original soundtracks he has lent his talents to. As a singer-songwriter, he has demonstrated his great artistic senses and matured techniques. Any fan of his work and any fan of musical theatre (regardless if you understand Chinese) will enjoy this album, and it wouldn’t surprise me if there another album is already in the works. (Keep our fingers crossed.)

An excellent album!!! Musical actor and song writer Ayanga, a Chinese Mongolian, expressed his feelings and interpretations of 9 world literary classics through his composed songs and versatile singings. He has a story-telling and captivating style of singing that many love.
