I was lucky enough to see AD live back in 1985 during their brief but brilliant run. Compared to almost all the rest of the stuff being marketed in the ‘CCM’ realm, AD was leagues beyond in terms of musicianship and creativity. I had the original CD release of this (from Livgren/Numavox directly, on CD-R), and i remember the liner notes saying that, unbelievably, this was the only live recording of the band remaining (and the only one that could be salvaged into some kind of releasable form). So yes, Livgren himself did the mix, doing the best he could from what he had to work with. No pics on the audience, soundboard recording…but i’ll take it. And since my original CD got ruined via scratches, it’s great to see it available here. Although some of the lyrics are a bit pedantic and rigid for my taste, and some of the keyboard sounds reek of the 80’s, if you’re a prog-rock fan and enjoy material with a more spiritual bent, this is great stuff.

I never got a chance to see AD live, or Livgren live for that matter. This will be the closest I ever get. Many of the songs are from Art of the State which I think was ADs' best album. Arrangements are tight and the instrumental solos are amazing. Wish I had been there that night. Why did it take so long till it hit the public's hands? Worth it just for "Encore - T.G.B." Amazing stuff!!!

Wow! This was one of the bands that moved me toward Christianity when I saw them at Night Of Joy in 1986. They were so, way ahead of the curve in the genere, that I compared most of it to these guys, and most of the other acts of the day fell way short. This recording does not do this group justice in the least bit, because it sounds like novice audio school students mixed and posted it. I know Livegren probably cringes with this mix too. Too bad they wrere trashed in the mix. These guys were consumate pros, who were the kind of advocates for God that I really appreciated.

I met Kerry and Warren right after they formed the group AD. It was a great experience for me and I will never forget it.Since that time I have enjoyed all of thier music. This CD is even better than the studio version. I love it!!!
