I'm Not Afraid to Die - Single

This has become one of my favorite songs. I just lost my dad and it is so comforting. I love the melody.

It is always such a treat to hear Willie pop up in a duet. He and Gillian are like toast and butter on this number, a natural match that begs for more.

Not my absolute favorite duet with Willie (and he's done many great ones), but overall sweet and pleasant to listen too.

The song is great, but not the best from either of these two. I am excited about the collaboration, but this doesnt seem like its as good as it gets.

When I first purchased this song, the artist was only Willie Nelson and being a fan, I figured why not purchase this one as well. And to my complete happiness and surprise, the song is mostly sung by Gillian Welch, who I have loved for years. This song sounds like it could be on Gillian's album, "Time (The Revelator)". Very simple lyrics (the title says it all) and guitars accompany the lovely voices, but I think that is the beauty of it; they are not trying to do too much. The message is not uplifting but it shows wonderful strength of character through the obvious pain. If you like Gillian or Willie, then add this one to your collection....wonderful song.

This is a little gem -- definitely a "must have" for Gillian and Willie fans!

..but i'm gonna say that it's cool just on principle, because it's Willie & Gillian!

Gillian and Willie deliver a performance of this haunting ballad in their respectively wonderful styles; in particular, the mixture of their voices works as well as one would hope, leaving me looking forward to further collaborations from these two.
