This album takes you on a truly magical experience. A friend introduced me to the concert on YouTube and I was instantly hooked. The serene back-drop of Joshua Tree, live music played from the soul, touches your heart and takes you places known and unknown...

...many sense the land can be channeled as a special power center; Joshua Tree and the surrounding high desert night harbor an alien, otherworldy vortex-y connection within their grand protection. Warped rhythms and drum solos, electronic marimbas -- there's a lot going on here. Rufus Du Sol tap in, and they went so far as to crystallize a deep source for this cinematic set. It's made more authentic by subtlety, beguiling atmospehric treatments, and tight leyering/segues in the trax.

I watched the YouTube concert of this tonight and having seen them perform twice before including Red Rocks this past October, this catalog of their now finely nuanced “best of” songs reminds you of why you’ve liked them all along. And do please drop them into one of the most special national parks in the US and, perhaps, in the world (Red Rocks not withstanding) and you’re set for the next 45 minutes. Play on, boys. We’re there, too.
