Hey if you’re a Christian artist, and can’t brake through because of labels like the Vineyard music who don’t know marketing. Do an album like this. You can not be played on radio but maybe an Allstate commercial
Great Album!!

This is such a creative and multi layered album. It is awesome that there is great contemplative Christian music out there without the cheese.
Thanks John!

JMM just keeps moving further away from the Christ he claims to sing about and follow. He started off being political and here in what he claimed was a return to his faith he shower the idea of reincarnation which is not biblical. Since JMM no longer really can tell what is biblical from any idea he likes though I am sadly no longer surprised. Anyone wanting to follow Christ does themselves a disservice by listening to this music that freely makes Christianity a mix of any and all religions and ideas JMM likes. To bad because he was one of my favorites and is no doubt talented.
Yes yes Yes!!

I've been following JMM since Borderland and always intrigued by what I'll hear next. In a world of sappy worship songs, he writes and produces songs that make you think, question and wrestle with life as a Christian, and I am thankful for his music. this is a great step forward.
4.5/5. Solid album from a great singer/songwriter

I wish I had a 4.5/5 option, because 4/5 is lower than what I feel.
This is a great record. Crisp production, interesting arrangements, catchy melodies and deep lyrics. The whole album has a fun, pop feel without feeling cheesy. That’s quite an achievement.
However, I do feel this is a small step down from Mercury & Lightning. That album is hands down my favorite of JMM’s. Although, the comparison is a little unfair as these are very different albums. This is pure preference and a subjective take. I will say I prefer the production on Peopled With Drams over Mercury & Lightning, but the arrangements and lyrics on the latter hit harder for me.
All said, this I definitely worth your time. JMM always delivers.
Favorite tracks: Juggernaut, Hammering Heart, The Road, The Rocks & The Weeds, God Is Young

He’s one of the most consistent artists out there in that you can always count on deep and poetic lyrics that he’s clearly wrestled with before gifting to listeners. His musical direction is the only variable but this feels like a slight step forward in the sound he established on his magnum opus Mercury & Lightning. My favorite songs on this one are “Christ Jesus,” “Pilgrim,” Everything New,” “The Road, The Rocks, The Weeds,” and “Ancient & Brave.” Another great one from JMM!
