What a great concept! After listening to Al’s first Beatles tribute every day in the car, I highly anticipated the second one and I wasn’t disappointed. High quality production, Al’s unique style and the most surprising elements of voices makes this a very special homage to the Fab Four. I hope Ringo and Paul will listen to this!

Covers albums are usually gap fillers to fullfill a contract or a sign that the artist in question has run out of compelling ideas of their own. As a fan of Al from his Elegant Gypsy days, I know he has the talent - and on the two tracks already out definately brings the appropriate reverence of the Beatles catalog (The mellotron intro to SFF is perfect...) I am caustiously optimistic that this will be a great album and not a lazy cash-grab.
