Look as much as this band is hated for the new sound...I’d like to say it isn’t that bad. Slightly cringe at its worst, but absolutely fresh at its best.

Perfect example of a band that literally stole bits and pieces of rock music from 1970’s from almost every band onwards and made it theirs

I really applaud the band’s willingness and courage to go out and try something completely new and different than what they’re known for and the fact their label is letting them do that is amazing. You don’t often see such drastic changes in bands these days who can still manage to make something decent (emphasis on decent) out of it. For better or worse. While this might have been a more “experimental” album that doesn’t exactly nail the landing, I’m hoping they’ll take the best parts of this and Ire and return to the dark days and forge new horizons (see what I did there) pushing their signature sound and roots into exciting and unexpected places. Sign me up for the next one!

This album was such a disappointment, they completely changed their sound. I wish they would make good albums like horizons and deep blue again.

I just don't understand the direction these guys went. They were once the pinnacle of metalcore to many fans of the genre. Now, they seem to be chasing some odd blend of radio-ready rock that just does nothing for me. They state that they needed to "grow" as a band, that they couldn't just keep doing the same thing over and over. Well, to me, Horizons, Deep Blue, and Atlas were all uninque, each one doing things differently. Yet, they were all still amazing. So I don't know what happened to their vision, this new stuff certainly isn't heavy and it's just not good. I hope to see a return to form someday.

Waited a long time for new heavy music like this!
