I love Handel’s work and have been part of a community Messiah Song for 10 years. Unfortunately, I don’t care for this director’s style. Many of the pieces are conducted with choir singing full staccato. After a while, it took away from the meaning of the words and the gorgeous music. It seemed like the director was bored and wanted to make a mark stylistically. Didn’t work for me and made the choral pieces sound childish.

I purchased the album specifically for the song “Unto you a Child is born” but the entire album is wonderful.
