5SOS is good but I’m a bigger fan of Charlie and he shoulda sang the song himself because he sings better in my opinion

I think the mastering of this song could have been done better it sounds rushed just so they could have a cash grab.

wait, so charlie made a remix of his own song?
jokes aside, I have a sinking feeling this was probably the original version of this song and 5sos somehow managed to get their hands on it as the primary artist after writing some of their own parts. I like the tune; the live version is more “5sos” to me than the original, but that’s because the original is so achingly overpolished. and charlie’s backing vocals are so apparent on it! come on, guys, we know how to read songwriting credits. this is just “easier” turned up to 11 in the puth department. same song, just some different lyrics.
look, I love 5sos. they’re my favorite band. and like I said, I like “easier.” I have the flexidisc and all. but they’re milking this whole collab with charlie so hard. (as in, the song itself, remix aside.) the original version was enough, it was essentially a charlie puth b-side. the live version was what should’ve been released as the original. and this “remix” as well as the other remix is just filler to get more streams and radio attention.
it seems a bit disingenuous in my opinion, and I say this as someone who has been a fan of 5sos for nearly five years now. I even liked charlie puth’s last album voicenotes. A LOT. but this whole drawn-out shebang with “easier” ain’t it, chief. too overly pristine. too squeaky clean. too charlie. I’m specifically leaving this review on this remix and not the original because I enjoy the original and didn’t wanna take out all my gripes on it. this is just over-the-top
4th Version: Still Amazing

Honestly, I’m almost convinced this is the entirety of 5SOS album 4. But maybe we can get a Cal, Ash, and Mikey version out of this, so not complaining.
Seriously, though, if you’re new to 5SOS, this is a great collaboration from them that they’ve worked hard on. Charlie Puth and Luke Hemmings sound amazing and I’ve had it on repeat since this was released.
Is it their best song? No. But it is still worth the listen and buy. If you love, or even just like, this, you’ll love the Youngblood album by 5 Seconds of Summer as well.
Buy it, listen to it, become a part of the amazing 5SOSFam. You won’t regret it.
