  • Singer Davidson sounds horrible

Yes is going to sound bad as long as they retain Jon Davidson as a singer. His vocals at times sound simular to Jon Anderson then they get pitchy and at times just plan wierd. Steve Howe wake up and reform Yes with Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman. Thats what the fans really want.

I love Yes!! It’s always been my favorite but live album after live album is showing me exactly what I know...... they can’t write music anymore. The well has dried up and it was sad to see them live a couple years ago right after Squire died. The tempo of the music was noticeably slower to help out Alan White who was slowing considerably and the new bass player keeping up. To me, Howe is just running this ship into the ground.

ALBUM, ITUNES YOUR STORE IS MISSING 2 QUALITY YES ALBUMS, MAGNIFICATION FROM 2001, AND FLY FROM HERE FROM 2011. BOTH VERY GOOD AND FORGOTTEN. AS FOR THIS YES 50 LIVE ALBUM, SOME OF THE MEMBERS ARE UNDER AGE 50............

Yes 50th was Awesome! Why? It's Yes, Steve Howe still with them, Geof Downes needs to go, so does Alan. The singer is good!!! I believe Tommy Shaw from Styx would definitely kick it up both with guitar and vocals. Yes is the only Progressive ROck band alive today from the 70's that still does EXCELLENT MUSIC!!! What band today can match the Progressive music of Yes? What do kids have today? No-ONE!!! I first saw Yes in 1973!!! I was 12 years old!!! All through my teenage years. What do these kids of today have? That matches Yes?

I’m a huge Yes fan but this is weak and uninspired. Poor Mr Davison just can’t hold a candle to Mr Anderson (even at age 75). Yes songs require the heart of the composer to sing them with the passion they require. Ain’t happening guys.

I had to buy this because I was at the concerts in Filmore Philadelphia when this was recorded. Captures the musicianship we expect from Yes. Sure, I’d like to see a unified Yes with Jon A, Trevor Rabin and Wakeman, but it really was a heck of a show, not a bad seat in the house. I’ve warmed up to Jon D and Billy Sherwood, as they become more comfortable with their roles in the current lineup. I own all of Yes’ albums, and I’d appreciate them a little more if they play a few songs from the last two albums rather than ‘Classic Yes’ each year, but that’s just me. Having listened to this CD, I think it’s pretty good. What I like about Jon D’s vocals is that you can understand the lyrics, which is not always the case with Jon A. This completes my Yes at 50 collection, along with the Yes feat ARW at the Apollo. Great to listen to both back to back to experience the contrasting styles!

Where's the punch? CTTE sounds almost like a demo. Much of the rest lacks the necessary speed. And to top it off, there's little clockwork between the players. It's by the numbers, mostly. Finally -- and I'm not a Jon Anderson-only fan -- but Davidson's singing is rather deflated. They should've brought back Trevor Horn for the vocals on some of hte tracks.

This makes me sad. The performances are solid, I guess, but somewhat lifeless and anonymous since there are few members left who played on the original recordings or — in the case of “Sweet Dreams” — none! I’ll give it this, I think I could actually sit through the entire thing, unlike their last studio album, Heaven and Earth. But, here’s the thing… I have loved Yes almost my entire life, and back in the early ‘90s their tangled history already read like a real life Spinal Tap. Back then I never in my wildest dreams would have predicted the level of absurdity it would devolve to, with two competing “Yes” lineups touring at the same time. At this point I still respect Alan White but I really have had enough of Steve Howe, and why are the rest of these guys even here? So, thanks but no thanks. I have seriously loved and obsessed over Yes music through the years but I am beyond done with all of this.
