I was really into this album when it was first released but now I don’t love it as much. It’s very heavy in all the right places and Steve Morse plays up a storm, but even with Steve Walsh back in the group it doesn’t sound like the Kansas of old. Morse is a undeniably a great guitarist but he is nowhere near the songwriter that Kerry Livgren is. No violins, no long songs, though there is a very cool instrumental in Musicatto. Three Pretenders and Silhouettes in Disguise are two very good hard rock numbers. The low point is definitely Secret Service. I have also never really liked All I Wanted and Tomb 19. Very different but not bad.
