    By who cares?????????????????????
I was two years old, although the bulk of the fans screaming their heads off to these ditties weren't too much older. Honestly, most these songs are inane, but a handful show promise of the brilliance brewing underneath with a bit of music and mood beyond a barbershop quartet for the pre-teen set.

I'm giving this LP 5 stars because I'm weighing in the impact this LP had. Done in about 11 hours. My copy just turned 60 years old and it still sounds great. I played both sides yesterday.

60 years ago today on March 22nd Of 1963 the Beatles first album please please me was released 60 years! Today! A little history on recording so basically it all started in 1962 when their first single Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You was released on October 5th 1962 and then their second single (which is the title track) Please Please Me/Ask Me Why and both singles were successful however on February 11th The Beatles had a thirteen hour session to record the album so basically this entire album (with the exception of the singles) was recorded in just one day! One freaking day! Not only that John Lennon had a very bad cold but somehow this album still sounds amazing! Of course I wish that there was a mono version on iTunes because that’s how they were intended to be heard 60 years ago but the stereo mix is good too but this is unbelievable that this album is 60 years!!!!!
  • OVERRATED BAND!!

Just listen to the first track & you will hear how flat & lifeless the Beatles truly were!! Then listen to Tiffany cover that same track & how her vocals & the session musicians made it come alive!! It’s just more proof to how overrated the Beatles really are!!

The way it is as recorded in one very long day makes it a live type album . This is what the Beatles sounded like in late 1963 which will be sixty(60) years ago next year. The Beatles brought rock n roll back to it roots and changed rock music forever giving it new life another fifty years .
  • Where’s the Mono

You guys REALLY need to get make the mono versions of these Beatles albums available. Saying it sounds much better is an understatement. The Beatles created the dub in mono. At the time stereo was a new technology so after the mono dub was created and the Beatles left the studio the studio executives created the stereo dub to sell new speakers to people. They didn’t know how to create something to sound good in stereo so the just spread out the words all the way to the right and in instruments all the way to the left and nothing in the center. It sounds absolutely terrible. I wasn’t sure how much of this stuff was exaggerated by fans but then I listened to the mono dub of love me do and please please me on a greatest hits album and MY GOD!!! THE DIFFERENCE!! DON’T BUY THIS ALBUM!!! In needs to be heard on mono. I can barely listen to this version. Felt like I was getting vertigo listening to it. This stereo version of the early Beatles albums needs to be destroyed never to be heard again. At the very least someone should remix it and create a new stereo dub cause this is one of the most horrible things I’ve ever heard. And I have a 2 year old. Purchase this somewhere other than iTunes until the get the mono version. It’s bad. I mean it’s really really bad. If I were The Beatles I would be FURIOUS.
  • Inferior Stereo Mix

Great music ruined by a butchered “stereo” mix of music that was intended to be heard in mono; instruments and vocals are hard panned left and right, making it sound bizarre and unnatural when listening via headphones. Why can’t we get the mono mixes??
