Reviews

  • The Lads Made Steady Progress

With each album, The Beatles made nearly an exacting level of progress. Of course, they got a lot of help, as befitting the most successful. Rigby does stands head and shoulders as the best song. I was 5 when this came out, and 15 when Got To Get You came out as a single. I distinctly recall thinking it must be a newly discovered track, as I hardly had the resources to buy my own albums up through that time in order to know better. Anyway, it fit better ten years later with the horns that had become a bigger part of popular music. This was the lads: the most talent, the most tech and the most help. Toss in an ample amount of ego and arrogance. How could anybody else make music like this, when these boys had enough resources to throw a lasso around the future?
  • Why does ITunes do it?

I just bought a copy of Revolver. Why does itunes cut out the beginning and ends of songs. I’m annoyed because I love this album. When these recording are tampered with, it spoils the memories some of have. It’s literally like a unwelcome guest. The chopping up of songs doesn’t stop with The Beatles. These albums really don’t need to be messed with. George Martin saw to that. iTunes, get the master recordings and stop monkeying with people’s experience. You can certainly afford to get masters recordings.
  • Buy the whole album.

I recommend buying this whole album. I did and have no regrets. All incredible songs. I enjoyed For No One somewhat less than the others honestly, but still have no regrets about purchasing the entire album instead of buying the songs one at a time. I bought this album a couple of years back and have now heard all of the songs at least 300+ times per song. "Love You To" along with "I Want to Tell You" are my most played songs from this album now, but really buy the whole album. You won't regret it either.

As with all their albums, they are “flat”! Meaning here is no life/heart! The music has no soul!! This is why I can never understand why people give this group credit they are never due! Yellow Submarine is also one of the worst songs ever wrote!!
