When this album came out in 1979 I couldn’t stop listening to it. This despite the hateful reviews. When will people understand that artists are constantly testing boundaries and trying new things? If you want band on the run this ain’t it but it’s a fun record. Any album that puts John bonham and David Gilmore together on the same track can’t be all bad.
  • Starts out great, then fades fast

The new version of Wings with Laurence Juber on guitar and Steve Holley on drums sets forth with a new album in 1979, 'Back to the Egg' With new blood comes new ideas, and some are very good. 'Getting Closer','We're Open Tonight'. 'Old Siam Sir'. all portend good things, but Mccartney cant get away from sappy ballads, and it brings the album back down to earth. A Super Group song, 'Rockestra Theme' sounds like a good idea, with an all star cast, but doesnt have much to say. Its a shame this version of Wings didnt stay together longer, it might have donr some really good things.

In my opinion, this is probably the worst album Wings did except for a couple of songs.
