I can’t speak to U2’s music per se. I know they’re good. Perhaps songs of innocence is a decent album. However, this is the worst album to ever hit iTunes mainly because of what they did. U2 and Apple had a collaboration back in the day where they’d release Songs of Innocence for free and every iTunes user would get a copy. Pretty generous, except for one fatal flaw: they automatically download it onto your phone. They completely removed the choice for people to download it and instead forced it on people. Now you’re probably saying “well if you don’t like it, just delete it. Simple as that.” Yeah…it should be…except this album has a little quirk where even if you delete it, it decides “no, you DO want me on your phone” and just reinstalls itself AGAIN! So I’ll be listening to songs on shuffle, one of these songs comes on AGAIN after I already deleted the album, and I repeat the cycle… No other song or album I’ve had over the years has had this issue before. I’ve deleted songs and albums before, but this one is the only one that refuses to stay deleted. It’s annoying as sin and there’s no easy solution to it. I don’t want this album, I’ve never wanted this album, but it refuses to stay deleted. The fact I have no choice as to whether or not I want this album is absolutely infuriating. U2 and Apple should be ashamed of themselves.

I love the album and U2 as a band. I would feel equally violated if I had a JayZ or equally offensive rap album forced on my phone. But the album itself is awesome even if the delivery was a poor decision form Apple and U2.

I HATE that my phone automatically plays this album when I start my car. Wildly obnoxious.
  • Not worth it

Got this album when it was free, thinking it was going to be good. Kept making me mad when it would pop back up in my library after deleting it several times.
  • This is awful

I cannot believe Apple pushes this kind of garbage onto my phone. It’s absolutely awful.

No matter how many times I delete this album off my iTunes it comes back. It’s like cancer, I can’t get rid of it. There isn’t a single good song on this album

This album was just downloaded into my phone when it first came out. I don’t want it I’m not a musical fan of theirs and no matter how much I try to delete it, it always shows back up…it’s cursed or something and it drives me up a wall…..why u2 why???
  • Yes, it's a great album

Even better than No Line On The Horizon, which was not a balanced record. Despite the shoddy rollout of the album (they should have just made it Free to download by choice, like that WIlco album), it holds up strong. It's not hard to delete in your Apple account and go to Apple Support if you can't. The comments here cannot help.
