On a broken piano

Research the history. The piano was broken and if not for a sold out house, the concert would have been canceled. The slow beginning is Jarret’s first interaction with the instrument that had been recognized as broken only a short while earlier.
Overrated

By Bruno Taut
One of the most overrated solo albums. Today, about 50 years after the recording, it only seems like the then usual paddling and strumming with many echoes and copies of the then new Minimialmusic. The typical Jarrett bluff. Too many chords, too many coincidences, too much too much.

First time I've listened to this album in years. I loved it in the 80's and so wonderful to discover it again. Jump on board, a thrill ride!
Formidable and lovely

So very hard to imagine that this is only the second review of this iconic performance. It will tumble around in your head and have you coming back again and again to admire its elegant simplicity. An absolute must own in order to become familiar with sort of piece.
Intimate

Intimate, expressive, truly one of the best pianists of our time.
