Tonight was more of an alt rock hip hop offering than previous albums but it still is good. Tonight feels flashier and bigger with songs like Tonight, Showstopper and Hey Devil being energetic and Funky Jesus Music probably being a highlight of how good Toby can make funk. City On Our Knees is probably the best song on the album and as before, no bad songs but the weakest I would say is Captured. Still a good album even in 2024.

I mean some of the songs were OK but loud and clear? I’m unsure. I am really unsure.I am a fan of the elements album but I am not fond of this one. I mean, loud and clear made me laugh but I was very unsure that I would ever listen to that again. But at the end of the day was it really that good? no it wasn’t really that good.

This would be his last album where I could get a better deal buying the whole album than just the songs I like, in this album you will find songs that are perhaps fun, cool, and uplifting. As a matter of fact my favorites here are all of them except Loud N Clear and Break Open The Sky.

I’ve loved TobyMac since he was part of DC Talk. He continues to write relevant lyrics which encourage in my Christian walk while writing music that is energetic & fun.
My favorites on this album are: Tonight, Funky Jesus Music, Show Stopper, Changed Forever and Captured. These are my favorite upbeat. But Break Open the Sky is a fun calypso Jamaican style song.
