I’m almost embarrassed that I am just now discovering this incredible album being that I”m a huge U2 fan. I’ve been reading the wonderful book by Bono, “Surrender,” and decided to listen to the albums as he recalls them. So last night I did a preview of the “Boy” album and I’m totally blown away! It’s so raw, so inspired, so delicious and over the top magnificent! It took me back to my days of my 4 track cassette and for the first time getting to hear the songs inside my head. Playing the drums from the heart and playing each note like it was your first time playing music. This album has me dancing around like a “boy” of 14 when I first started recording music myself. The musicianship of this album is top shelf, I love the picked bass by Adam and the wild chops of the Edge and of course Larry on the drums! I can’t imagine what that might of felt like hearing them for the 1st time before anyone knew who they were and what they might become. If you are a U2 fan this is a must have! I can’t wait to listen to this in my car full blast and better yet, putting on my headphones and playing along on my drums! Thanks Bono, Larry, Adam and the Edge for sharing such a gift with us! I thought the Joshua Tree was my go to album, but this might replace it!

This is one of my personal favorite U2 albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. Also, this album has great vocals, great drum solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album from U2.
