Monk with Coltrane, Hawkins, Blakey. This is a tremendous recording. Clearly Monk produced here one of the greatest jazz recordings of all time at a time when the deck couldn’t have been stacked more against him. Amazing work. The one and only Thelonious at his best with a great septet.
