  • Amazing Recording-Near Perfect Songs

In 1975 I picked up a first pressing of Katy Lied and put it on my quadraphonic capable system. The cutting of the record allowed frquecies that ignited the CD4 surround processor in my Pioneer quad amp. To hit such frequencies the grooves of the album have to be very precise and I remember this album being touted as a recording and engineering masterpiece. It was a really early audiophile pressing that played the great songs composed and produced by Becker and Fagan with amazing dynamics and superior frequency range. I don't think that can come through on an MP3 recording but it al least gives a listener the chance to preview the material then they will purchase the album if not on vinyl at least a CD .
  • Deeper dive into SD

For the consummate Steely fan. Take a deeper dive into their catalog right here. This album delivers. Not all the radio ‘hits’ here but if you like heady lyrics that SD is known for this is some top notch Steely. This album was released the year I was born. Fond memories hearing this in the background at home as a kid and only grew to love SD more and more. 45 years later still love it.

I 100% agree with you grateful, it’s my personal favorite too, the songs are much better than the Aja album, great songs from my memory of high school times. These guys were so good

While Aja may be their best album, this one is definitely a personal favorite. An incredible listen from start to finish with some great songs and great musicianship. The best part is the abundance of deep tracks
