Not a very good interpretation here. As said by other reviewers, very pecky and dull in the Stevens, as well as the Francaix. The playing is strong in the Davies, and overall the technique is very skilled. The articulation hinders the musical line and the playing can be too loud in most of the CD.

pecky and dry articulation.... no vowel and an all around bad interpretation of Halsey Steven's work.

The entire first movement of the halsey stevens is pecked to death instead of played with some kind of lyricism, there's a musical line there, somewhere, worthless as a study recording. IMHO
