What an artistic career for Charles Lloyd. Near 80 years old, and still a master of all things musical. The backing is well named - indeed marvelous. And Lucinda? - who'd a thunk? Brilliant.

Saw the group in concert last year in LA during the time this record was being recorded. An amazing band. Charles at the top of his game has found the perfect foil in Bill Frisell. Featuring Greg Leisz. Reuben Rogers. Eric Harland. And the incredible voice of Lucinda Williams. As good as it gets. Indispensable.

Once in awhile, you stumble upon a gem. This album is just that. The feel, the flow, the arrangments and performance of each song are fantastic. Lucinda Williams has the perfect voice and delivery for this work. Though I've never been a huge fan of hers, I love her on this project. Do yourself a favor and take a listen.
